One of A Kind

The outing club is one of a kind
Exercise for body, conversation for mind.
They scale a mountain or hike a trial
Over rocks and rivers, hill and dale.

Some walk slow, some walk fast
Some lead off, some are last.
Some wander off on a very different course.
I think it's called seeing a man about a horse.

Some complain loudly its time to eat
And all move quickly to find a good seat.
good natured chatter prevails through the walk,
As first with one then another they walk.

And when its over and they call it a day
Each of them goes their own separate way.
Knowing in a week they'll be together once more
Oohing and aahing over mountains and shore.
