Take Pride in Acadia Day. We always have a lot of fun while we help prepare the carriage roads for Winter. Meet at the Park Headquarters at 8AM and work until noon. A free hot lunch and T-shirt are provided. Thanks, Joan

Oct 9th Moose Island on MDI - Part 1

This was A rare opportunity to visit an unspoiled, privately owned barred-island (accessible at low tide) at Seal Cove. The trail around the island is beautifully maintained and the walk was led by Sturgis H., who was able to fill us in on the history and architecture of the island.

35 DOC hikers braved the cool & cloudy skies, by the end of the hike the sky cleared and the sun warmed us up.

The tailgate party after was a resounding success with great food, camaraderie and autumn vistas. Several passersby stopped to inquire about the cheerful group. Only one member, namely Dick Sturgeon, had in his possession an all important DOC info card.
