Nov 3rd Little Moose Island

It looks like these folks are having way too much fun
Thanks to Merle B. for the picture

Oct. 10th 2nd Annual DOC Outing to Twin Pine Camps, Millinocket

Another spectacular outing for the DOC at Twin Pines Camps. Excellent accommodations, fine restaurant, and outstanding fall hiking in good weather . . . who could ask for more.

During the day the group split up, some went up Mount Katahdin in Baxter State Park
others set off on logging roads and navigated through the woods to intersect with the Appalachian trail for a few miles. Everybody had a good time.

Anybody interested in making 2012 the 3rd stay at Twin Pines ?

Sept 11th Pedal the Penobscot

Once again several DOC members participated in the 5th Annual Bangor Land Trust. Pedal the Penobscot

This was not a DOC event but you would never know it considering how many members helped with this fund raiser

These are pictures of the DOC members who rode in Pedal the Penobscot on Sunday,
September 11th. A great bunch of hardy riders.

September 15 Amherst Community Forest

Fog - Thunder/Lighting & Heavy Rain was the forecast for this hike lead by Christina D. & Susan W. Let it be know that on this day the weather man was correct!

Fortunately the rain did not start until we were on the way back to the parking area. Despite the weather 22 DOC'ers explored a new hiking location for the DOC and had a good time. We will be back!

August 18th Mount Waldo

Dave A. lead 27 DOC members up Mount Waldo on a bright sunny day. Mount Waldo is a favorite venue for the DOC offering great views of all types and this year also offering blue berries by the handful. This hike differed from previous Waldo hikes because we came down the mountain through the woods and granite quarry.
