Jan. 20 2011 Xc Ski the Pipeline in Hampden

Mindy & Stan B. hosted 20+ DOCers for a great day of cross country skiing starting and finishing at there house in Hampden. Another day of great snow and good skiing conditions. Afterwards we had a cozy lunch in their sunroom.

Jan. 14, 2011 Witch Hole Pond, MDI

This weeks outing was a cross country ski trip around Witch Hole Pond on MDI. Don P. lead 27 DOCers on this outing which consisted of fresh snow, recently groomed trail and no wind. Lunch as usual was trail side.

Jan 13, 2011 to Jan 14, 2011

Snow is forecasted to linger into Thursday morning (the 13th) . Considering messy road conditions on Thursday morning, along with the need to clear driveways, etc., this week's outing has been moved to Friday, Jan. 14., 10:00 AM. Here are additional details:

This week's gathering is the Witch Hole pond loop xc skiing/
snowshoeing on MDI. Conditions should be magnificent. Starting at the
Eagle Lake parking lot, the loop around Witch Hole is about 5.5
miles, 6.5 including Paradise Hill. Shorter distances are also
possible. Lunch will be somewhere along the trail.

Meet at Eagle Lake parking lot on Rte. 233 at 10:00 am.

Day Mt. HIke 2010

In the better late than never category here are a few pictures from a 2010 hike on Day Mountain.

Jan 6th GPMT

David & Ann lead a large group of DOC'ers on the crusty snow covered Esker trail at GPMT.
It was a beautifly sunny day with little wind. Most of the group went up Oak Hill, a smaller group blazed a new snow trail to Flag Hill Rd. Lunch was on the mountain in a sunny spot with a great view.

Dec 30 Ski on RR tracks and après-ski

Another day of great weather was on the schedule for this ski and snowshoe outing.
Linda lead about 34 members on a out & back trip on the Sunrise Trail near Ellsworth.
Afterwards most DOC members went to Linda & Henry's house for a lunch of hot soup and other
goodies that everyone brought.
